Meet the Banach Family!
Dear Grand Master Hafner,
Last year, when my son Nicholas was in 2nd grade, we were struggling with the momentous task of learning to read. Nicholas was reluctant to move on to the next step of chapter books because it seemed difficult and impossible. He attended a Karate lesson where the message of the week was on self-confidence and the ability to try new things.
Directly after this class, Nick jumped into my van and immediately picked up a chapter book that I had been trying to get him to read for weeks. He said “I feel great, I think I can read this” and he began to read.
It was like a light went on in his brain and he has been a fluid reader ever since. He reads well beyond grade level and rarely stumbles or hesitates. I directly attribute this to the boost in confidence that he needed and was given by that particular message of the week. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
