Fox vs. Rabbit
Some of you are in leadership positions. Some, sooner or later, will be given the opportunity to assume a leadership position.
Scout leader; committee head; coach; manager.
Here is what leadership does NOT require: a perfect you.
Here is what it DOES require: a you who is committed to ongoing improvement.
The ‘leadership key’ is found in the word ‘committed.’
‘Committed’ to ongoing improvement vs. ‘interested’ in ongoing improvement.
There is an old Martial Art story about a fox chasing a rabbit.
‘Who will win this battle?’ the Master asked his student. ‘Who could know?’ replied the student.
‘Usually, the rabbit wins. While the fox is running for his dinner, the rabbit is running for his life.’
You see, the fox is ‘interested.’ The rabbit is ‘committed.’
