From the Desk of Keith Hafner
‘It’s Hard to be Successful…or Is It?’
When faced with a difficult challenge, people often shrink back…discouraged by the difficulty of the task they face.
I have experienced this many times in my own life. A short list of difficulties would include:
1. I really needed to hire an office assistant…but couldn’t afford it.
2. I needed to greatly improve my marketing skills, but didn’t know how.
3. I needed to find a facility for my business that was large; in a great location; and inexpensive.
After one particularly frustrating day, as I reflected on all the difficulties I faced, it occurred to me that, yes, solving my problems was difficult. It was also difficult, though, to remain stuck in my current circumstances.
It was then that I began to understand that ALL things are pretty much equally difficult.
Is it hard to stick to a diet and exercise regimen? Yes. Is it hard to be out of shape and in poor health? Yes.
Is it hard to adhere to a budget and save money? Yes. Is it hard to be broke? Yes.
Is it hard to have a successful marriage? Yes. Is it hard to fail at marriage? Yes.
You see where this is going. All things are, pretty much, equally hard.
The good news in this is that we get to pick which type of difficulty we will experience!
