How to Motivate Kids

Some kids are motivated to follow rules,  perform well at school, do what they  are supposed to do…by the promise  of reward.

Other kids are motivated differently.  They respond more quickly to the  promise of negative consequences.

Not only that:  some parents are  more comfortable motivating with “reward;” others, more inclined toward “negative consequence” motivation.

Here’s my suggestion:  Whichever one you are accustomed to using — develop skill in the other one.
