The Missus…
It was 1976. I had less than $200 in the bank. I drove a beat up white Ford pickup truck. I had a $3,000 stereo and the beginnings of what would become a fine jazz collection. I owned 2 pairs of jeans, 5 t-shirts, a Levi’s workshirt, and a pair of Kalso earth shoes that cost more than the rest of the wardrobe put together. I was on my first lap through the classics of American literature. I was close to earning my Black Belt in karate; I had a broken nose, and a pretty good round kick. I had big plans, and an even bigger mouth.
And somehow, I had persuaded the lovely Renee to marry me.
